Aubrey Lee Turner

Aubrey Lee Turner, age 69 of Morganton, Georgia went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2025.

He was born on August 5, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Leroy and Ruenell Turner.  Aubrey was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, son, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  Aubrey was an inspiration to all who knew him.  After surviving a hit and run accident in 2010 his health was never the same but he remained positive through it all.  It never changed who he was.  He loved telling his story and how God brought him through all of it.  He always said that’s what God wanted him to do, tell his story and be an inspiration to others that were going through trials.  He was a kind and giving person and loved to fish, make jokes, and sing his country music but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Turner, his brothers Eddy and Randall Turner and his sister, Patricia Stevens.

He is survived by his Son, Steve and daughter-in-law, Christina Turner of Pine Mountain, Georgia, his Daughter, Casey and son-in-law Micheal Spradlin of Lagrange, Georgia,  his Brother Billy Turner of Morganton, Georgia, Sisters Shelby Steele of Kennesaw, Georgia,  Wanda Gaines of Morganton, Georgia, and Susan and brother- in -law Mark Littleton of Acworth, Georgia, his Aunt, Jewell Clay of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Nephew, Justin Gaines of Morganton, Georgia, Nephew, Eric and Jessica Turner of Richmond, Virginia, granddaughter, Gracie Turner, granddaughter Debra Turner and Fiancé Matthew Amonett, Grandson Steve (Turtle) Turner and daughter in law, Laura Turner, Great Grandchildren Jeannie, Rynlee and Maisie Turner, as well as various close cousins and friends, especially, longtime friend, Billy Joe Dickerson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.  Officiating will be Rev. Jimmy and Linda Manders.  Interment to follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to the service time at the funeral home.

    You were more than a cousin to me. You were like a brother/father figure to me my whole life. You were such a strong man and will forever be missed. It all seams unreal and this world will not be the same without you in it. Go rest high on that mountain, dance with Barbara, laugh with your brothers, and hug your parents.

  3. Aubrey, my sweet brother, I still can’t believe this is real! I took you to the hospital to get well. I had no idea this would happen. I miss you so much! At least you’re not sick anymore! Hug Eddy, Randall, Tricia, Mama and Daddy for me. Hug Pat and all of our other loved ones up there. I never thought that I would lose three sweet brothers this fast! I will always miss you and love you!
