Bennet “Pat” White Sr.

Bennett “Pat” White, Sr. passed away peacefully on June 30, 2022.  He has gone to be with his Lord and Savior and to be with his late wife of 66 years, Carolyn.  He always dreamed of the day they would be reunited.  He was born on November 6, 1931, to the late Nelson and Elizabeth White of Norfolk, VA.  After graduating from NC State University and a short stint in the Army, he and Carolyn settled in Plymouth, NC in the early 1960s.  Other than a short time in Chiefland, FL, they remained there until Carolyn’s passing in 2019.  At that time, Pat moved to Flowery Branch, GA to be near his son.  He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Plymouth where he has served as a deacon, sang in the choir, taught numerous Sunday School classes, and spent his life studying and living God’s’ word.  Pat loved the outdoors.  His career as a Professional Forester and surveyor kept him outdoors.  There are not many swamps in Eastern NC that he did not wade through to cruise timber or to run a survey line through.  He loved working in his yard and woodworking.  He also loved fishing.  From the Outer Banks to the Roanoke River and the Albemarle Sound, he also loved being on the water. Survivors include his sons Bennett White Jr. and wife April of Flowery Branch, David White of Midlothian, Virginia; grandchildren Bryan K. White, Maxx L. White, Matthew B. White; great grandchildren Annalee Grace White, Forrest White, Aiden Briggs White, and Elijah White.
