Carolyn R. (Knoppy) Knopp, age 92, of Hoschton, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022. Carolyn loved to play tennis, bowling, reading, traveling, and especially the Georgia Bulldogs. Carolyn was an administrative Registered Nurse for 40 years for Infectious Disease Control. She is survived by her dear friend Judy Wester and Katelyn of Hoschton, and close family friends The Kenerlys’. A Service of Celebration will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating Theresa Kenerly. Graveside services will be privately held at Tyus Baptist Church, Carrollton, GA. The family will receive friends 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the funeral home. I was so sorry to hear about Knopp’s death. I worked with her at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. She was such a role model for OR Nurses. We became good friends and after she left Piedmont, she would be back for various reasons and I would see her in the halls or various waiting rooms. I talked with her on the phone several times after she retired and it was she that called me to tell me of our long time OR Supervisor’s death. I know you will miss her.
