Charles Murphy, age 89, of Hoschton was born in Birmingham Alabama on August 13, 1930. He was the only child of Charles and Lutie Murphy. His childhood was spent in Shreveport Louisiana, Beaumont Texas, and Birmingham Alabama. He graduated from Woodlawn High school in 1948 and served our country in the United States Navy. Charlie was a true patriot his entire life. He accomplished his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University, graduating in 1958, and was a HUGE Auburn fan…WAR EAGLE! He was a lover of music playing the trumpet from the age of 7 years old, and while at Auburn he was in the Auburn Knights Dance Band. He met his wife Sue at Woodlawn High School, they were married for 41 years, and were enormously blessed with two children, Mark and Melanie. His career began with private veterinary practice and continued until his retirement with Eli Lilly in 1990. Charlie’s wife Sue went home to be with the Lord in 1992. Charlie and Susann met at their church and were married in 1994 until his recent passing. Charlie lived life to its fullest…loving God, our country, his family and many friends. We are so blessed to have known and loved him.
