David Lindsay Frame, age 74, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Jefferson Georgia.
Lindsay was born April 23, 1950 in Glasgow, Scotland to David and Margaret “Peggy” Frame and was a graduate of Allan Glen’s school in 1967. He later attended New College at the University of Edinburgh where he met Jane Ellen Ammerman. Jane and Lindsay married on March 30th, 1974. Lindsay graduated from New College with a Degree in Theology in 1978.
Lindsay moved with his family to the United States in 1979. He fully embraced life in the United States, becoming a citizen, embracing the Cleveland Guardians (Indians), and observing with gusto the food centered United States holiday Thanksgiving. Yet, he never lost his Scottish accent, and nothing could take the Scot out of him.
Lindsay was well known for his quick wit and snarky sense of humor. More often than not, he was the funniest person in the room. If he wasn’t watching sports on TV, he was watching cooking shows and old movies. He was passionate about really good food. He loved to travel, especially to warm places, and made many new friends on cruises. He was a card “shark”, able to count up the points in a bridge hand by the end of the first round of play. His favorite pastime was playing golf. Lindsay was a loyal supporter of Glasgow Celtic and Manchester United, but watching both the Cleveland Indians (Guardians) and the Cleveland Browns play was his obsession.
Lindsay honorably retired after serving Presbyterian Church USA on all levels of the church for almost 40 years. However, his deepest commitment was always to congregations whom he served with energy, intelligence, imagination and love including the Seville Presbyterian Church (Seville, Ohio) , Keystone Presbyterian (Odessa, Florida) and Highland Presbyterian (Largo, Florida). Surviving in addition to his wife Jane of Jefferson, Georgia, are his daughter, Sarah Sloat ( “Spike” Howard Sloat III) of Jefferson, Georgia; son-in law Brian White of Tampa, Florida; and; 5 grandchildren, Kara Stevens (17), Fia White (14) , Luna White (12), Evelyn Sloat (9) and Sofia Sloat (6).
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth (Ruthie) White and his parents.
Services will be held Thursday, April 3rd at 3:00pm at Highlands Senior Living, 50 Sumner Way, in Jefferson, Georgia. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seville Presbyterian Church, PO Box 63, Seville, OH 44272 or to Family Hospice, 624 S Milledge Ave Ste 101, Athens, GA 30605.

Jane and Sarah, words cannot adequately express the loss you feel. Paula and I want to cover you in prayer and express our deepest sympathies to the whole family . I personally will always remember Lindsay’s quick whit and affable demeanor. Surely there are some great stories being shared in Heaven among the saints.
God bless you all.
We will not be able to make the funeral, but let me know about the burial.
Deepest condolences to all! May he rest in peace and joy
Dear Jane and family, such heartbreaking news. We only met you and David a few years ago on a cruise but to us it was like meeting old friends 🧡. We laughed, drank, ate to much and put the world to rights. David was certainly the entertainment, some of the things he came out with had me crying with laughter. Me being a Scot had a lot to do with it, born about 20 miles from Glasgow, also my dad was Glaswegen. Rest in peace David , reunited with your beautiful daughter Ruth. Much love to all. X
Lindsay was a blessing to many people. I am thankful for having him in my life. Mary Foust
I am grateful I got to know Lindsay back in our Wooster days. May God be close to all of you as you weep and as you remember.
Dear Jane,
You and your extended family are in our thoughts and prayers at Northwood Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, FL. After David retired I enjoyed getting to know you both in your worship with us and praying for your daughter in her battle to cancer.
I well remember asking David to share with us in worship on our Kirk’n’ O’ the Tartan services. His quick wit led him to the one minute I gave him that Sunday to share our Scottish heritage to almost replacing my sermon that day! He was terrific that day and others and everything went well. I knew him when he came to work at Highlands Presbyterian Church and we shared great stories with me of how he met you in Scotland and of his love for the church.
Please know we celebrate his faith and keep you in our prayers during this time with your extended family.

I met Lindsay and Jane in edinburgh about 1972 and attended their wedding in 1974 but we lost touch when he went to America until some time later when I attended Lindsay’s mother funeral in Glasgow and met Jane and Lindsay again. I am that he will be missed by his many friends he met wherever he stayed. Also my condolences to Jane
