Deborah Kaye Poe Smith, age 67, of Jackson, GA went to be with the Lord after an extended illness. Deborah was born in Oglethorpe, GA and was a graduate of Briarcliff High School. Deborah was a Cosmetologist by trade but her passion was in arts. She was a very talented painter and writer. She had a love for the outdoors and all animals. Survivors include her companion Gary Smith of Flovilla; son Jason Strickland of WY, Joseph Strickland and wife Faith of NH; daughter Amy Hardin and husband Marcus of Braselton; brother Billy Poe and wife Christina of LA; sisters Joyce De La Rosa and husband Art of Lafayette, Becky Sulliven and husband Tony of Talking Rock; grandchildren Kody, Austin, Ryan, Peyton and Madison; step father Clifford Sulliven of Rossville and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father Claude Poe; mother Barbara Poe Sulliven and son William Loudermilk. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 26, 2021 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org. Mom, I sure hope you are enjoying heaven. What a joy it must be to see your mom and dad and William again. We surely miss you but are rejoicing in the fact that cancer is no more for you. I can only imagine what a life of no pain, sickness, heartache or suffering must be like. Save me a spot for one day I’ll join you again. I love you.
