Deborah Kaye Poe Smith

Deborah Kaye Poe Smith, age 67, of Jackson, GA  went to be with the Lord after an extended illness.  Deborah was born in Oglethorpe, GA and was a graduate of Briarcliff High School.  Deborah was a Cosmetologist by trade but her passion was in arts.  She was a very talented painter and writer.  She had a love for the outdoors and all animals.  Survivors include her companion Gary Smith of Flovilla; son Jason Strickland of WY, Joseph Strickland and wife Faith of NH; daughter Amy Hardin and husband Marcus of Braselton; brother Billy Poe and wife Christina of LA; sisters Joyce De La Rosa and husband Art of Lafayette, Becky Sulliven and husband Tony of Talking Rock; grandchildren Kody, Austin, Ryan, Peyton and Madison; step father Clifford Sulliven of Rossville and a host of other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her father Claude Poe; mother Barbara Poe Sulliven and son William Loudermilk.  A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 26, 2021 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.  Arrangements by Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA, 30548, www.lawsonfuneralhome.org, 706-654-0966.

  1. Mom, I sure hope you are enjoying heaven. What a joy it must be to see your mom and dad and William again. We surely miss you but are rejoicing in the fact that cancer is no more for you. I can only imagine what a life of no pain, sickness, heartache or suffering must be like. Save me a spot for one day I’ll join you again. I love you.
