Edna Marie Jackson Mangum

An angel called home by our Heavenly Father, Edna Marie Jackson Mangum, age 72, of Flowery Branch passed away very peacefully on May 19, 2014 at New Horizon Lanier Park from an extended illness. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm Monday June 2, 2014 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 4100 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville. Rev Clack Stubbs, Pastor Ricky Stone of Gainesville and Pastor Scott Wilson of Flowery Branch will be officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Saturday May 31, 2014 and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday June 1, 2014 at Little and Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville. Mrs. Mangum was born in Hall County, Ga to Frank Arlington and Birtie Mae (Little) Jackson on August 25, 1941. On March 7, 1959 she married the love of her life, James Carroll “Tody” Mangum they were married 19 yrs. She was the owner operator along with her husband at E M Mangum Grocery & Service Station & Wrecker Service for 16 years and also owner of Edna’s Fashions. She also worked off and on for 20 years with Tupperware and 7 years with Olan Mills Studios. She is a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church of Flowery Branch. Mrs. Mangum was preceded in death by her grandparents Marion & Minnie Nix Jackson, Clyde R & Reba H. (Dobbs) Little. Her parents and husband, brothers James (Jimmy) Jackson, Charles Robert Jackson and Sister Mary Frank (Frankie) Armour, brother-n-Law Moses Armour. Special Friends Lavern Headrick, Billy Ray Collins. She is survived by daughters and son in laws, Carolyn and Barron Grant of Gainesville, Pamela and Paul Clendennin of Flowery Branch. 5 grandchildren Lindsey Grant, Wesley Erickson and Laura Grant all of Gainesville, Trent Clendennin, Kellie Clendennin & Kaelin Clendennin of Flowery Branch, great-grandson Brooks Erickson of Gainesville. Brother-in- law Talmadge Mangum and sister-in- law Evelyn Mangum both of Gainesville and special friends Brenda Collins, Tommie Goss, Bobbie Goss Glenn, Ellene Headrick and Roy Denton. Survived also by many cousins and other relatives and numerous friends. She loved her Lord and Savior, her family and friends and she was known for her green plants and pictures. She is loved by all who knew her. Honorary pallbearers Jimmy Jackson, Johnny Jackson & Larry Sexton. Love in Action group and Senior Adults from Zion Hill will be in an honorary section.
