James Clyde King, age 89, of Winder passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020. James loved blue grass music, working on race cars, loved to fish, puzzles and his dog Tinker. Survivors include his wife Joy King; son Grail King and wife Deena of Winder; daughters Brenda Carter of Winder, Stacy Page and husband Russell of Winder; brother Larry King of Athens; sisters Cormae Wikins of Winder, Annette Kennedy and husband Sonny of Winder, Shirley Sleeper of Winder, Susie Nichols and husband Steve of Arcade, Annie Kriegor and husband John of Winder, Barbara Cole of Winder; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Peppers. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Grail King will be officiating. Internment to follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens, 793 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA 30680. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 10, 2020 at the funeral home.
