Macie Leann Newberry

Macie Leann Newberry, age 28, of Winder passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 after a strong, courageous battle against cancer. Macie was a vivacious, strong-willed, down-home-country girl who enjoyed arts and crafts, the race track and baking (especially pecan pie). Above all, she loved her children more than anything in the world and would do anything for them. Macie is survived by her three children, Grayson Taylor, Joshlyn Taylor and Charles “Charlie” Occhipinti, Jr.; her parents, Paul Newberry, Jr., Patricia Crowe Newberry, and Tommy Scruggs; her brothers, Daniel Newberry and Christopher “Chipper” Newberry; her paternal grandparents Linda and Sid Newsome; and many other beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Paul Newberry, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Donald and Sue Crowe, Sr.; maternal uncle Donald “Doodle” Crowe; and paternal cousin Justin Newberry. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lawson Funeral Home for the funeral expenses. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Russell Page. Interment to follow at Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery (1061 Old Thompson Mill Road Hoschton, Ga). The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the funeral home. I personally been a friend of the families throughout my whole life I had a pleasure to meet her once and I am just lost with any type of word that can make a difference and I love her family her mother and I just can’t believe what I’m seeing God bless her and her family it’s just tragic horrible news going too soon
