Marie Givens, Age 73 of Winder Georgia passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 peacefully at her residence. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Lawson Funeral Home with internment to follow at Oakland Community Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Ga. She was born in Tomahawk, KY on April 11, 1947 to the late Lawrence and Joene Haney. Many knew her from the years she spent working as a custodian at Hull Middle School in Duluth Georgia. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She would cook and sew. Her favorite things were Fried Chicken and watching old re-runs of Perry Mason, Law and Order. But her favorite was the show Monk. She was preceded in death by her husband John David Givens, her son Ronald Lee Davis and daughters Irene Haney, Weltha Henry and Diana Hendrickson. Mrs. Givens is survived by her daughter Velvet Lee Davis Jackson of Winder. Grandchildren; Nathan Jackson, Stanley Jackson, Stevie Jackson, Tim Jackson, Becca Jackson, Donald Ray, Billy and Jerry Henry. Great Grand Children; Kaitlyn, Gus, Carrie, Cheyenne, Robert, Braylen, Logan, Kylie, Leaunna, Morgan, Colbee, Aimee, Bailey, Chasity, Gavin, Ophelia, Hailey, Leuna, Sebastian, Little Jerry and Candi. Step-Son Robert Davis of Lexington, KY. Several Brothers and Sisters, Extended Family and Friends. The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 12:00pm to 9:00pm, Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 10:00am to 2:00pm and 4:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 10:00am to 2:00pm and 4:00pm to 9:00pm.
