Mark Edward Chalmers

Mark Edward Chalmers, age 57, of Braselton passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019.  Mr. Chalmers was a handy man and he loved the Lord.  Mr. Chalmers loved to golf, fish, animals, the outdoors, to bowl, and the Georgia Bulldogs.  Survivors include his father Jack Chalmers; sons Christopher Chalmers and wife LeAndra of Douglasville, Jack Chalmers the second of Athens; daughters Charlene Chalmers of Charleston, SC, Mary Jane Chalmers of Mayesville; brother David Chalmers of Braselton; sisters Debbie Campbell and husband Phil of Snellville, Kim King and husband Kevin of Hoschton; grandchildren Benaiah Chalmers, Grace Chalmers.  He is preceded in death by his mother Nancy Chalmers.  Memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Friday, January 3, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.  Joe Brooks will be officiating.  Interment cremation.  The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, January 3, 2020 at the funeral home.  Funeral arrangements by Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA 30548, www.lawsonfuneralhome.org, 706-654-0966.

  1. I am so sorry for y’all’s loss, My heart goes out to the Chalmers Family, he was a great man, I have never forgotten or stopped thinking or loving him and his family. Prayers and blessing to all. Dear Heavenly Father may he rest in piece and heal the ones left behind. Amen

  3. Mark was one of the best friends I’ve ever had!!! He saved my life, I was in a very bad place and not far from giving up. Mark and his Parents took me in treated me like family asked nothing in return. It turned my life around!!!! Mark was a kind soul for sure, a real friend always. I will miss you buddy!!!! Thank you for being you, thank you for the great memories you will never be forgotten!!! Be sure to hug Nancy for me.

    2. Sorry to hear about your brother’s passing Kim, I vaguely remember him at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church , I do remember your Mom and Dad, may she rest in peace also. My Dad, Hanel passed away last year .We thought a lot of your family at Mount Carmel and enjoyed all the Homecoming visits over the years. Give your Dad a hug from my Mom Evelyn and I and tell him ,we love him.Your Dad nicknamed me quack quack , after saying that during the children’s part of the service . You are your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  5. As a friend of Debbie’s I only met Mark one time. It was immediately evident he had the Chalmers loving heart and twinkle in his eyes. God bless you Mark and May you rest in the love of the Lord with your mom.

  6. I loved Mark very much. I have been in a bible study small group and have had the pleasure of praying with him. He served our country in the United States Navy and I love his daddy very much too. He is with Jesus. Shalom my brother

  7. Prayers for the Chalmers family from Mt Carmel Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, VA. Mark and I were children in our church when his dad, Jack, was our pastor. While I lost touch with Mark, my heart goes out to his family especially his dad. God will comfort you all in this dark time and will lift you up in the coming days.

  11. Jack, I’m so sorry to hear of the family’s loss. I remember all the Chalmers kids from Northeast Baptist Church so many years ago and they really were kids then. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family, praying that God will give you peace and comfort. I know Nancy was waiting with open arms to welcome Mark home.

  12. First time I met him was at his house at the time and guess what?! there was a lake!!!!! And a boat! My friend Wayne came picked me up to go fishing…..come to find out, I had already knew him bc of his sweet daughter Mary! Her and my nephew knew each other from school. Mary im sorry about your Dad!   13. Sweet Chalmers family, I have known you since I was a little girl when Jack and my dad (Chips) we’re young pastors in rural Virginia.   15. I met Mark on Cherry St. In Rogers Arkansas in 92. He helped me through a rough time in my life by letting me know that someone cared about me. I have never have forgotten. He helped me be there for so many. I am grateful for him being a part of my life. I will never forget him.
