Mary JoAnn Gavin Howe

Mary JoAnn Gavin Howe, age 83, of Winder passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018. She loved weekend traveling with her husband, sewing, crafts, and gardening. She worked at Birnbrey, Minsk, Minsk & Perling LLC CPA firm for 35 years. She was a member of Hoschton Planning Commission, Hoschton Historic Commission, Hoschton Women’s Club and Winder United Methodist Church. Mrs. Howe connected with Midway ball park in Decatur, GA. Survivors include her son Redd Vincent Howe and wife Tina of Winder, GA; daughter Jennifer Gavin Howe Henriott of Buford, GA; brother Bernard Leon Gavin, Jr. and wife Karen of Pensacola, FL; and 6 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Bernard Leon Gavin, Sr. and mother Carmen Pearl Gomillion Gavin; husband Robert Ralph Howe; and sister Jacquelyn Marie Gavin Yarbrough. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel, Hoschton, GA. Pastor Calvin Haney will be officiating. Interment will be held at Hoschton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Lawson Funeral Home.   1. Oh my darling Jenny. How I hate what you are going through now. I’ve just turned 83 and I know my time is coming when God calls my name. JoAnn and I had some great times at Midway watching our girls play and we both joked about what we called back then, our white clam digger shorts. And we usually would happen to wear them at the same time. And she was a great supporter of our Girl Scout troop.
    Honey I love you and I pray for the family as you go through these rough days. And may God give you peace and understanding.
