Maxine P. Staten Shoemake

Maxine P. Staten Shoemake Oct 6, 1926 – July 9, 2012. Long-time resident of Atlanta, Fairfield Plantation /Villa Rica, Ga, also residing in Braselton, GA, and McCormick, S.C. before returning to Oklahoma in May 2011. She worked at Irby-Seawell/SE Aviation Underwriters for more than 25 years. A courageous and inspiring woman, Maxine enjoyed fishing, baseball, volunteering, family and friends. And she loved her dogs. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay Shoemake; sons, Roy Lynn and Donald Lynn; sister, Gerry Pickering; and brother, Bob Pickering. She is survived by her grandchildren, Tammy Reiss, Sherri Austin, Lora Spivey and Kathy Kull; siblings, Charlene McKinny, Jane Satterfield, and Tom Pickering; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A Memorial gathering will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, at Northeast Church, 2001 Cherry Drive, Braselton, GA.
