Mrs. Elise Burke Roberts, age 96, of Atlanta passed away in Dahlonega on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Due to declining health, she had lived in the home of her niece for the past 7 years. Elise was born in Screven County and later moved to Atlanta with her parents. She was a bookkeeper for Westinghouse until she retired and a member of The First United Methodist Church of Atlanta. Elise was preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Roberts; her parents Mason T. Burke and Jessie Mae Camp Burke; her brother, Thomas E. Burke Sr., and Lillian D. Burke, sister-n-law; Thomas E. Burke Jr., nephew. Mrs. Roberts was survived by her niece, Mary Burke Stover and her husband, Marvin of Dahlonega; a nephew, David Marvin Burke and his wife, Chris of Roswell ; Dawn Tatum Burke of Social Circle and 6 great nieces and nephews and 8 great- great nieces and nephews.
