Charles L. Hayes

 

Charles Lyle Hayes, born July 8, 1935 of Jackson County Ga, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022. Charles was born to the late Curtis and Lucille Pierce Hayes. Mr. Hayes loved to tinker with old lawn mowers and cars. He was married to the late Sadie Bell Lee Carter Hayes. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Julius Carter, daughters Bonnie Carter Patton, Ruby Carter Peck, and Brenda Carter Brock, and granddaughters Misty Brock, Rhonda Brock, and Elizabeth Peck. Survivors include his sons Charles “Red” Carter of Arcade, and Timmy “Bobo” Carter and wife Jamie of Hoschton; daughters Margaret Carter Brock and husband Buck of Jefferson, Martha Sue Brock and husband Pete of Jefferson, Sharon Hogan of Bishop, and Debra Woods of Lagrange; sister Ann Hill of Hoschton; brother Pierce Hayes of Jefferson; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. Pallbearers include Rambone Carlile, Junior Carter, Devin Brock, Drake Culver, Damon Culver, and Clayton Chambers. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends starting Wednesday February 9, 2022 until Saturday at the family’s home. Officiating Rev. Ron Perrin and Rev. Steve “Boll Weevil” Roberts.
