Randall Wiley Jones “Randy”

Randall Wiley Jones, age 76 of Jefferson passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Randy was born at home in Buford, GA on September 21, 1946 to the late Reverend Carson and Mozelle Jones. He was the youngest of seven children. He graduated from South Hall in Gainesville in 1964. He retired from General Motors in Doraville, GA after 30 years. He rode Harley Davidson motorcycles all over the United States in between his hunting and fishing trips. He loved his children, grandchildren, being with his friends at the Bulldogs and especially going to the senior center. Randy belonged to many motorcycle clubs including Abate of Georgia, Walton Cycle Club, Two Dogs Motorcycle Club, The Cushman Club and was a charter member of the Hog Club in Athens. In addition to his parents Randy was preceded in death by his son Adrian Jones; brother Ray Jones and wife Francis. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Joyce Jones; step son Nicholas Fitton; daughters Julie Scoggins and husband Darrell, Tracy Wright and husband Josh; son Nathan Jones and wife Lynn; grandchildren Mayetta Jones, Natalie June Jones, Corbin and Morgan Scoggins, Noah; sisters Runnette Mathis, Rilla Bell, Ruth Williams, Rachel Graham; brother Ryman Jones; and a host of other relatives. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the funeral home.
