Richard Franklin King

Richard Franklin King, 80, of Winder, Georgia passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2024. He is preceded in death by his late wife of 58 years, Dorothy Ann King. Parents, Lonan and Thelma King, and sisters, Dorothy Jean Harlock, Shirley Duranic, Mary Bell King and Lola King. He is survived by his son, James Richard King. Daughters, Debra Lynn Palermo, Kimberly Ann Ramos, Melinda Annette Smith, and his Brothers, Lonan Halsey King and wife Carolyn, James Gilbert King and wife Nancy. 9 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and numerous Neices, Nephews, Cousins and great nieces and nephews.  Richard was born in Nashville, TN. He attended Vanderbilt University and Retired from the Army with more than 20 years of service.  The family will receive family and friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside service will be held at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA the following day. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:00 am.
