Nellie Grace Oliver

Nellie “Grace” Oliver , born November 15, 1941 in Lyons, Ga. passed away Friday, October 18, 2024. Always a servant to others and her family. She took pride in her appearance and her home. The one thing that brought her the most joy was her family. Everyday she would talk with excitement and thankfulness when one of her 3 children or 6 Grandchildren called or visited her. Nothing brought her more joy than cooking a meal with her famous homemade biscuits or doing a small gesture for her family. She usually never bought special occasion cards but would make her own with a drawing and her own special words. I think anyone who knew her would describe her as: God loving, Sweet, always a sense of humor, and nurturing. She will be a tremendous loss on this earth but She left something meaningful in everyone’s life and heart that knew Her. She is survived by her husband Jack Lee Oliver; son Monty Oliver and wife Terry; daughter Letitia Shugart and husband Keith; sister Oveta Mason Miller; grandchildren Tyler Shugart and wife Rebecca, Travis Page and wife Stephanie, Austin Shugart and wife Ashley, Mitchell Oliver, Hunter Shugart and wife Veronica and Rachael Oliver; great grandchildren Emmalene Oliver, Jeremy Oliver, Emersyn Shugart, Jett Shugart, James Page, Lily Page, Easton Shugart, Holden Shugart, Callan Shugart and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank Mason and Lecy Salters Mason; daughter Melanie Oliver Page; brothers Frank “FT” Mason and Uconus Mason; sisters Elenor Mason, Bonnie Mason, Cleta Jernigan Mason, Tiny Kennedy Mason, and Nell Luthi Mason. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Minister Will Haddock. Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 2. So so very sorry for your loss .Every time we lose one of our friends I sing or listen to the song “Heaven is sounding sweeter all the time “ and I think of the reunion we are all going to have.
Praying you all can find peace and comfort in knowing she is pain free and suffering no more but most of all she has made it Home.
