Linda Ruth Childers, age 83, of Jefferson passed on to Heaven peacefully on Monday February 3, 2025, after a year’s long battle with cancer. She was born in Paris Texas to William & Ruth Fletcher.
Linda spent much of her early life as a home maker raising children. During that time, she developed a lifelong passion for horses. She turned that passion into a business raising and breeding Arabian horses. Her next venture was a Plant nursery that did landscape design and installation that she ran with her son Brad. The last business Linda ran was a sales and merchandising company that employed 5 merchandisers across the metro Atlanta area.
She was active in her Church community volunteering with multiple service areas for many years. She enjoyed many friendships she made through her church life and volunteering.
She loved her family and was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Linda took great solace in the relationship she had with animals – large and small throughout her lifetime. She adopted many strays of all shapes and sizes.
She was proceeded in death by her parents William & Ruth Fletcher, Sister Patsy Jo Fletcher, Sons Brad & Jim Arriola. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Donald Childers, Daughters Lisa Christopher and Nicole Arriola Cadora, Son Bret Arriola, Stepson David Childers, Grand Children Brooke Rhodes, Travis Henderson, April Nelson, Michael Arriola, Wesley Childers, Kalin Childers, Alexandra Arriola, Wyatt Cadora and Charlotte Cadora. She was also blessed with 10 Great Grand Children – Charleigh, Owen, Hallie, June, Luke, Tray, Saiylee, Kennedy, Bear and Luna.
To honor her life a service will be held Saturday February 8th, 2025,
Galilee Christian Church ~ 2191 Galilee Church Road, Jefferson, GA 30549
The family will receive friends at 10:00 am with the service to follow at 11:00 am
If you are attending the service, please wear a bright color in celebration.
The family would like to make special thanks to Dr. Haris Hatic who cared for her throughout her cancer battle as well as the incredible team at AccentCare Hospice who cared for her in her final days.
