Dwight David Cheek, age 60, of Hoschton passed away July 20, 2016. Dwight worked for a number years in the construction industry as a carpenter, for the Town of Braselton in the Water and Wastewater Operations and most recently with Gold Creek Processing in Gainesville as a wastewater pretreatment plant operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was passionate about NASCAR racing. He is survived by his daughter Julie Cheek Miller and husband Gordon of Dacula; grandson Greyson Reed Miller of Dacula; sisters Barbara Cheek, Linda Cheek White, Janet Cheek Davis and husband Bruce; brother Paul T. Cheek Jr. and wife Brenda all of Hoschton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Paul T. Cheek, Sr., mother Shirley Everlean Cheek, sister Brenda Sue Cheek and brother Joseph Edward Cheek. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 3878 Braselton Hwy, Buford, GA, 30519. The family will receive friends 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, July 22, 2016 at the funeral home. I am so sorry I couldn’t make it to the funeral home. Dwight was one of my best employees. I will him very much, but he is in a much better place.
