Sara Alexander Bond Stieb, age 66, of Hoschton, a talented actress, writer and comedienne, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 in North Georgia. Her lifelong love of theatre, dance and song began with school productions in her hometown of Louisville, KY. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Butler University, studied at the Dallas Theater Center, and then moved to New York City. While in New York, she appeared off-Broadway in Flamingo Court, off-off Broadway and at numerous regional theatres. She made several national commercials and had television credits including Saturday Night Live. After moving to Georgia in 2013, she appeared in Lend Me an Ear at Atlanta Shakespeare Festival, Brave New World and Freefall at Theater Emory, The Savannah Disputation at Theatrical Outfit, and most recently Calendar Girls at Georgia Ensemble Theatre. Alex was also an award-winning writer, with plays including re-BELLE-ious, Lopsided, and Morning, Noon and Night in Central Park that were produced in Massachusetts, New York and Texas. She performed readings of her novel, Late Nights with the Boys: confessions of a leather bar chanteuse, which received awards from the Dallas and San Francisco Fringe Festivals and the NYC Fresh Fruit Festival. Alex was warm and generous, and loved her many friends as family. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Leon Stieb, sister Jessie Bond (Ray Glier), cousins, nieces and nephews.
