Helen Evelyn Fontanessi, age 97, of Hoschton, GA, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021. Helen was born May 30, 1924, in Clairton, PA. She lived and raised her family in Western PA. She was married to the late Charles Edward “Ed“ Pancake, Sr. (1944-1968) and the late Louis Fontanessi (1975-2005). She enjoyed retirement in Wildwood, FL; Kintnersville, PA; and Braselton and Hoschton, GA. She loved cooking and baking, as well as crocheting and quilting. She also loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer and traveler. Survivors include her son Charles Edward “Ed” Pancake, Jr. and wife Joanne of Hoschton, GA; daughter Karen Bilak and husband Mark of Kintnersville, PA; daughter Donna Solar and husband Steve of Longs, SC; and daughter Linda Czaja and husband Tony of Oldsmar, FL; stepdaughter Darlene Mokos and husband Ed of Bluffton, SC; stepdaughter Luann Fontanessi of North Royalton, OH; brothers Daniel Cochran of Clairton, PA, and George Cochran of Coal Center, PA; sister Naomi Weiss of Dover, DE; grandson Jason Pancake and wife Christie; grandson Rob Pancake and wife Laura; granddaughter Kristin Stragand; granddaughter Kelly Davis and husband Greg; great grandsons James, Aaron and Brandon; great granddaughters Ruthie and June; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers James Cochran and Robert Cochran; sisters Ethel Leach, Anna Grace Morgan and Lois Posmoga.
