Psalm 127:5 – “Blessed is the man whose quiver is full…”
It is with extremely heavy hearts that the Butler family announces the passing of our beloved Ansel “Quillon” Butler, age 92, of Auburn, who went peacefully to his eternal home Friday morning, December 27, 2024, at his residence. He was born November 1, 1932, in Auburn, GA to Dock Alvin Butler and Euris Wall Butler.
Quillon wore many hats throughout his lifetime; a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, spiritual father and brother, mentor, and pillar of his community. He will be forever remembered as a man of unwavering faith, a steady, strong-willed and determined man of God with a generous heart.
Quillon was born and raised in Auburn, GA, the place he called home his entire life. Auburn was the place where he met his treasured wife, Guy Butler. It was also here that his passion for farming and gardening flourished. Quillon was a veteran who served in England during the Korean War. He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Union Grove Baptist Church. He was also a Sunday School teacher and dedicated member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA. His commitment to sharing the word of God was unmatched. The love he shared will live on for many generations to come.

He is survived and forever cherished by his loving wife of 71 years, Guy Mitchell Butler; his sisters, Sue Turner and Charlotte Smith; his daughter, Elaine Reagan of Dawsonville, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Derinda Butler of Auburn, GA; his daughter Ellen Toles of Gainesville, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lisa Butler of Gainesville, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jennifer Butler of Clarkesville, GA; his grandchildren, Emily and Chris Casper, Jarrod Reagan, Mary Beth and John Durham, Kimberly Butler, Kristy and Mark Mycroft, Megan and Dusty Talbert, Jana Proctor, Amy and Cohan Sharp, Jessica and Jordan Kemp, Bryson Butler and Brianna Butler; and 17 great-grandchildren.

An incredible testimony to a life lived for Christ. I am so confident Jesus welcomed Quillion with a “well done, my very good and faithful servant.”
As for us left here, we will miss you.
Praying for Ms Guy and family.
We are so sorry Quillon is not with Guy and his precious family and friends. We know that he is with his precious Savior, Jesus Christ, and they will be together again one day!
May God bless Guy and her family in this difficult time and may he take Quillon in his loving arms and say well done my good and faithful servant…
Quillon was a special man. He was always willing to serve however he could and was a great encouragement to others. From serving at Hebron to traveling with senior adults he and Guy were a delight to be with.
Ms. Guy and family – We were so very sorry to hear of your loss! He was a kind man and we know he will be missed. Know you are on our hearts and in our prayers.
May your beloved memories of Quillon comfort you through the coming days & years to come. Love Mary & Anthony Masters
