Bernard Lynn Webb, Jr., aged 61, changed neighborhoods and moved to Heaven on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Those who love him: wife of 33 years, Sheryl; parents, Bernard & Rose Webb; sister and brother-in-law, Beth & Jack Hausmann; children, Cindy & Jamey Edmondson, Rebecca & Sean Baker, Kerstyn & Caleb Gibbs, Noah Webb. He will forever be “Papa” to: Ashleigh Saunders, Carley Peterson, McKenna Edmondson, Chaney Edmondson, Evan Proctor, Levi Baker and Ethan Baker, and great-grandchildren Isaiah Saunders and Isabella Saunders. He is loved by his in-laws, Judy & Tom Lee, Kenny Welch, Penny & Morris Sherlin, Olaf Goddard, and extended family including many nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews. He is a beloved “Unkie Bernie” to Kate Hausmann. He, above all, was a Christ-follower and is sharing some great laughs with family members in Heaven. He was a friend to many who were drawn to his kind spirit and wisdom, not to mention his quick wit. He was an avid runner/marathoner in his early years and then passed down his love of running through Walk/Run 5K races in later years to Noah, McKenna & Chaney. He loved spending time outside, hiking, and geo-caching but not yard work! His “loves” ranged from quirky to artistic – pink flamingoes to photography to blogging to cooking. He leaves a void in our family that will never be filled and we will forever miss him. Memorial services will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Lawson Funeral Home. Corban Cofer will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to: Young Life. Condolences to the Webb’s and all who were close to him. Bernie was a respected and beloved colleague at Lanier. May the family know he is at peace and sense the peace that passes understanding to ease your grief. Al Stacer
I am so thankful to have had the privilege of knowing “Bernie.” Not only was he a tremendous blessing in my life, I also know that he was a great joy in the lives of hundreds of others. We are praying for the Webb family and everyone else during this time.

Bernie was also loved by those he worked with at Ricoh Americas Corporation. I was fortunate that he was part of my team at Ricoh. We value his many contributions including the excellent work that he did here as well as the great insight and humor he brought to the team. Over the years I came to rely on Bernie for much more than work and consider him to be a good friend. My deepest condolences to all the members of the Webb family for your loss. Please know that I join with you in the celebration of his life and the peace that comes with knowing his is now in the arms of the Lord.

I am glad to have known and worked with Bernie for many years. He was a fine man and I had great respect for him. I now live in Mobile, AL and will not be able to attend the funeral but I will remember Bernie with great respect and fondness.
Lynn, Henry, or Hank were the monikers used by the many of us from our early teen years and throughout high school whenever making reference to our dear friend, Bernard Lynn Webb, Jr. Simply, “Lynn”, whenever casually bantering about in the neighborhood we grew up in, Henry or Hank whenever there was any type of sport activity going on where his very creative and competitive nature were instinctively called into play. That boy had game, and everyone that knew Lynn, knew that about him! Hank was there to give his all, but always with a good hearted, light natured, fun, and funny approach. That’s the what, why and how our special friend is appreciated and remembered by the many I speak for with this simple message.

Bernie was so great to work with and always approached every endeavor as a true partner. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Webb family and the many friends I am certain he had. His kindness will always be remembered and I am blessed to have known him.

Today I will be attending the Memorial Service for my dear friend Bernie Webb. Through his personal example and his blog, Believing IN Christ Jesus through ALL things, Bernie has positively influenced the lives of countless thousands.
I first met Bernie in December, 1980 when I joined Lanier Business Products as Director of Systems. Bernie became part of the gifted team that developed and implemented Lanier’s first on-line real-time Business Management System (BMS). Bernie would spend the remainder of his career at Lanier and its successors while I spent only fifteen happy and memorable years there.
From the beginning Bernie stood out among many very gifted IT specialists at Lanier. He had a quick and insightful mind and was able to put into clear written form realistic solutions to complicated business problems. He was honest, friendly, respectful and well-spoken. I admired Bernie’s ability to think deeply and his ability to stay calm and on-track under significant pressure.
But what I admired the most about Bernie was that he was a true friend … a friend that cared … a friend that listened … a friend that was sincere … a friend that was a warrior … a friend that loved, lived and shared his faith IN and through Jesus Christ. While we lost contact with each other for many years I learned from a friend that Bernie had contracted colon cancer in 2007. In succeeding years I often received updates on Bernie’s ongoing battle with cancer through mutual friends. Subsequently I began to follow and communicate with Bernie through his blog.
I identified with Bernie’s battle with his cancer as I, too, began to face serious health issues in October of 2010. By 2013 my wife and I moved from our longtime home in Snellville, Georgia, to a community located in Hoschton, Georgia. To my delight Bernie contacted me by email when he found that I had moved to what was now his home town. Our longtime relationship was quickly renewed in the fall of 2013. From that point forward we met almost weekly either in person over breakfast or through in-depth phone calls. We read and commented on each others blogs. Together we chatted, studied, laughed, wept, prayed and encouraged each other. Our love and respect for each other as brothers in Christ grew with each encounter.
I will miss Bernie but I know without question that he is forever in the presence of The Lord where he will spend his eternity. I will continue to pray for his wife Sheryl for his grandson Noah and all of Bernie’s extended family as they deal with their loss. I can almost hear God saying to Bernie “Well done thou good and faithful servant … enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. (Matthew 25:21)”
