Donald Nix, age 64, of Pendergrass passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Donald loved his family and friends. He was always on the phone talking to someone. Donald would help anyone that was in need. He enjoyed cooking for his family and was great at it. Donald will be missed by many. Survivors include his son Jeff Nix; daughter Brandy Carlile; brother Ronald Nix; sisters Patsy Parsons and husband Waymon, Debo Nix; grandchildren Trey Evans, Ethan Carlile, Coleman Carlile, Tyler Nix, Taylor Nix, Journey Nix, Brooke Maynor, Brandon Maynor, Jacob Nix; great grandchildren Della Meaders, Adaline Evans and Athena Nix. Donald was preceded in death by his parents Billy and Hazel Nix. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Pond Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, 2615 Pond Fork Road Pendergrass, Ga., 30567. Pastor Scotty Lance will be officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the funeral home. Though I was only around Donald a few times in the last 30 years or so he was always a cool guy to be around! From comments on FB he was and will always be a very important family member to the Funderburk and Nix families!
My heart breaks for all that loved Donald for being an awesome family man and helping look out for Johnny and Judy Funderburk and their families through the years!
Donald you & I have been friends forever & like brothers from another mother’s. I can imagine what ruckus you caused when you went through that pearly gate with your flip-flops on & coffee in one hand saying “I know that’s right” . I swear the earth shook. If hoedown was still open I bet they’d close in your memory.
