Edward Eugene Fortner, age 52, of Jefferson passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Mr. Fortner loved his family, his truck, life and enjoyed singing. He is survived by his father Eugene Fortner of Jefferson; sons Christopher Earl Fortner of Jefferson; Jonathan Edward Fortner of Hoschton; daughter Kayla Leigh Fortner of Gainesville; brother Johnny Fortner and Kim Palmer of Talmo; sisters Christine McDaniel and husband Terry of Braselton, Shirley Palmer and husband Mike of Jefferson; grandchildren Landra Fortner, Leigha Ray, Kaylee Ray, Sadie Fortner, Thomas Ray and Corbin Fortner; long time special friend Martha Roberts and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by his mother Nellie Munn Fortner. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Calvin Gooch will be officiating. Interment to follow at Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, 557 Hwy 60, Hoschton, GA 30548. The family will receive friends 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the funeral home.
