Heyward “Russell” Casper, Sr., 77, departed from us too soon on Saturday, June 2, 2018 following a terrible fall in Stone Mountain, Georgia while visiting family. He was born December 31, 1940 to the late Felton and Ruth (Owens) Casper in Statham, Georgia. On June 16, 1962 he married Lynn Casper in Winder, Georgia. He retired from the IRS as a Security Analysis Agent after 32 years of service. Russell loved playing softball, fishing, vacationing at the beach, spending time with his family enjoying Lynn’s home cooked meals, watching the Atlanta Braves and always supporting his Georgia Bulldawgs. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lynn Martin Casper of Bartlett, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Hope Casper of Memphis, TN; daughter, Heather Casper of Bartlett, TN; grandson Jones Casper; granddaughter Holly Casper both of Memphis TN; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Cindy(Martin) and Phil Farlow of Blairsville, GA and Cecelia(Martin) and Hunter Wood of Southaven, MS; aunt, Marie Harris of Stone Mountain, GA many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held on July 21, 2018 at 11am at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, 260 Pleasant Hill Church Rd SE, Winder, GA 30680.
