James Clinton (Jim) Boone, of Hoschton, 83, signed off on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Mr. Boone was born October 31, 1939, in Langdale, Alabama. He was a 1957 graduate of Camp Hill High School in Camp Hill, Alabama, where he still holds several basketball records. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in Misawa, Japan and San Vito, Italy, where he made lifelong friends. Mr. Boone is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 57 years, Linda Wallace Boone; children Rebecca Boone Campbell and husband Todd of Flowery Branch, Charley Martin of Pendergrass; sisters Gloria Wilson and husband Dwight of Hiwassee, Sandra Payne of Reform, Alabama; brother in law Larry Wallace of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister in law Shelia Wallace of Dacula; grandchildren and joys of his life Caitlyn and Clay Price of Auburn, Al., Chance and Kelsey Martin of Jefferson; Maisy Martin and Harry Martin of Pendergrass; great grandson Aiden, to whom Jim was the Quiet Man in the Chair; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Monroe and Clara Boone; his parents in law Charles and Lucile Wallace; brothers in law Ken Klein, Buddy Payne, and Nolan Wallace; sister in law Pam Wallace. Mr. Boone was retired from Gwinnett County Building Inspection Department. He taught at several local technical colleges and was a past master of the Buford Masonic Lodge where he was a member for over 50 years. He attended Hoschton United Methodist Church. He was an amateur radio operator, a lifelong fan of Auburn University, and enjoyed daily online chats with his air force friends. Mr. Boone was an elder in the Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. A quiet, brilliant, and funny man, Mr. Boone will be missed by all who knew him. There will be no service, as he wished to exit the chat room quietly. He was my only brother and in spite of his devotion to Auburn (Roll Tide) I loved him dearly and will miss his making fun of me about being older. He actually sent me a sympathy card when I turned 30!
