Joe Evans Herring

Joe Evans Herring, age 88, of Hoschton, passed away July 11, 2022, after a short illness. Joe was born May 29, 1934, in Saluda South, Carolina to the late John Evans Herring and Vivian Hendricks Herring. Joe graduated from Easley High School (S.C.) in 1952. He then enrolled in the Corps and Cadets at Clemson Agriculture College and, after a detour to the United States Army, graduated from Clemson in 1959 with a degree in Industrial Management. Joe worked for Ford Tractor Company and retired as a regional parts sales manager after 25 years of service. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed wood working and restoring antique tractors and farm equipment. Joe is survived by his wife Pataline Long Herring; daughter Lisa Herring Paige of Lawrenceville; son Joe E. Herring Jr. of Dothan AL; grandchildren Matthew Chafin Paige, Mitchell Austin Paige, Jackson Joseph Herring, and Abigail Elizabeth Herring; Pats family including her son Richard Arnette and granddaughter Amy Michelle Hill; and four great grandchildren. Joe is preceded in death by his parents and sister Phyllis Hendricks Herring Harrison. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday July 23, 2022, at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.
