Kenneth Ray Young, age 61, of Braselton, GA passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Ken was born on September 19, 1962 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Ray and Mary (White) Young. While at college in Arlington, Texas, he met the love of his life, Betty Sargent, whom he married on August 21, 1981 in Orlando, Florida. Ken was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and working with his hands. Ken also enjoyed a dedicated career with Crown Lift Trucks for over 21 years where he had many colleagues who became good friends. His proudest accomplishment in life was being promoted to “Papa” by his grandkids, whom he loved so very much. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Ricky A. Young. Those left behind to cherish the special memories are his father, his wife of over 42 years, and two daughters: Kristin (Brian) Rosevear of Buford, GA and Shannon (Loren) Purvis of Guyton, GA. He has four grandchildren, Lyndon Edward and McKinley Ann Rosevear and Charlie Kate and Eleanor Ray Purvis. He also leaves behind his sister, Reba (Jerry) Pontbriand of Leeds, Alabama as well as six nieces and nephews who were all very special to him. He loved his people so well, and he will be dearly missed by all. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 11am at The Vine Church: Flowery Branch Campus, 6553 Spout Springs Rd, Flowery Branch, GA.
