Linda Esco Robertson

 

Linda Esco Robertson,76, of Hoschton, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 after a long, hard-fought battle with lung disease.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Robertson, Sr., her parents, Charlie and Lucy Esco and nine brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Robertson is survived by a daughter, Tara Carter, Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kelley Robertson, Gainesville; grandchildren, Michelle and Britton Hegwood of Commerce; Sam Robertson and Luke Robertson of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Estelle and Royce Blocker of Hoschton; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Debbie Esco of Braselton and their children, Alyssa Esco Leonard and Preston Esco.  Ms. Robertson is also survived by many special nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved dearly.

Linda was born on November 27, 1945 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.  One of twelve children, she was particularly close with her siblings, who all referred to her as “Queen.”  Children were one of her greatest joys in life, and she had a special way of caring and connecting with them. Linda worked twenty-five years as a “lunchroom lady” at West Jackson Elementary School, most of those years arriving early to wait with the children dropped off before the school opened.   Linda always kept spare money in her pocket to make sure that every child that came through the lunch line had enough to eat.  She was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Lawson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 5 at 2:00 pm with a graveside service at 3:30 pm at Liberty Baptist Church, Dawsonville. The family will receive friends Friday, February 4 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lawson Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Linda Robertson to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, foodbanknega.org or the Georgia Mountain Food Bank, gamountainfoodbank.org.   1. John I was so sorry to hear about your mother. I often recalled you mentioned to me,” I’m going to my mother house to fix this or do whatever she needed you to do”. You were a great son. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

  2. Linda was always a pleasure to see. We did not get together except at Thanksgiving or other gatherings but it was always enjoyable. My thoughts and prayers are so with her family. She was much loved by many.🙏
