Mamie Gooch, age 86, of Braselton passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017. Mamie loved her family, gardening and being outdoors watching birds. She retired as a seamstress with Dundee Mills and was a long term employee of Landress-Smith of Hoschton. Mamie was a member of Center Union Baptist Church and was loved by the whole community. Survivors include her son Calvin Gooch and wife Carol of Braselton; daughters Doris Farr and husband Chris of Gainesville, Anita Gaddis and husband Jerry of Hoschton, Marilyn Fricks and husband Garry, Sr. of Maysville; Pam Martin and husband Larry of Dawsonville; sister Peggy Harkins of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Annie Mae Dyer Edge; son M.C. Gooch; brothers John Ed Edge, Lee Ray Edge and Jimmy Edge; sisters Ruth Evans and Versie Sears. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Coley and Rev. LeRoy Gooch officiating. Interment to follow at Mercy Baptist Church, 3796 Tanners Mill Road, Gainesville, GA. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2017 at the funeral home.
