Mark Gardner Young of Atlanta died March 16, 2014 in FL from complications of chronic liver disease.  He was 46 years old.  He was the son of Winona and Warren G. Young.  Mark was a graduate of Campbell High School and Kennesaw State University.  He was a talented photographer.  He lived in Alexandria, VA for several years and worked for publications there and in the Washington, D.C. area.  Upon moving back to Atlanta he worked for a couple of county newspapers, then at Photographic Arts in Alpharetta where they photographed school sports and other events plus the student body individually for their current yearbook.  He specialized in actions sports, his favorite being NASCAR races, which he photographed whenever the races were held within driving distance.  He was a fixture at the Talladega Speedway.  For four years running he had a photo published in Sports Illustrated.  Survivors other than his parents include an aunt, Sylvia DeLong of Hoschton, GA, cousins Rita McDaniel (Phil), Danny DeLong, Charley Wood (Taylor), Chelsey McDaniel and Cambrey McDaniel, all of Hoschton and Chuck Stancil of Flowery Branch, GA.  He was preceded in death by his uncle Maurice Stancil.  Mark was cremated.  A private graveside service is planned.  Arrangements by Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA, 30548 www.lawsonfuneralhome.org, 706-654-0966.
