Otis Dean “Pop” Cooper, age 89, of Flowery Branch passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018. He retired from Gainesville College. He loved woodworking, gardening, and playing guitar. Mr. Cooper was a deacon and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Flowery Branch. Survivors include his wife Estelle Cooper of 68 years of marriage; son Randell Cooper and wife Julie; daughters Glenda Duran and late husband Jimmy, Gloria Allen Betancourt and husband Francisco; grandchildren Deana Harrison and husband Shane, Dawn Compton and husband Gary, Marty Baird and wife Gina, Jamie Duran and wife Amber and Eli Cooper and wife Ashley; great grandchildren Chris, Austin, Cooper, Colby, Jonah, Cam, Breanna, Tenley and Stella Kate; great-great grandchild Chesney and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents Omer and Julie Cooper; brothers Dewey Cooper, Myron Cooper, Horace Cooper, Branson Cooper, and Gene Cooper; sisters Alma Stinchcomb, Gladys Gee and Runell Turk. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Zion Hill Baptist Church 4100 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Pastor Scott Wilson will be officiating. Interment will be held at the church cemetery.
