Reginald (Reggie) Sardis Tate

Reginald (Reggie) Sardis Tate, of Hoschton, born April 18, 1957, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at age 67. Reggie was a hard working man who served over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife Christine Vandiver Tate; children Isaiah Tate, Benjamin Tate, Travis Tate, and Trabian Short; sister Sharon A. Stephens; mother in law Shirley W. Vandiver; sisters in law Andell (John) Corley, Aretha Dawn Vandiver; nephews; and a host of other relatives. Reggie was preceded in death by his parents Sardis and Evelyn Tate. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Fairview AME Church in Anderson, SC (2115 Watkins Road Anderson, South Carolina, 29625).   7. Reggie and I worked together and I cannot express what a light and joy he brought to each day. We bonded over railroad chats and checking in daily to see how the day was going. My love and prayers for his beautiful wife Christine and their family. Reggie will be always remembered fondly.

  21. I’m so sorry we lost Reggie, He and I were in Army ROTC together at Howard before he decided to join the Marines. We was a such a character and very funny. Gave me rides in his old Volkswagon Beetle sometimes which saved me from having to take the bus. We also had an English literature calls together. May God give your family peace and comfort in the name of Jesus.
