Rev. Clinton Earl Gooch, age 82, of Braselton, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Calvin Gooch and Rev. James Gooch officiating. Interment will follow at the Hoschton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, December 23, 2016 at the funeral home. Rev. Gooch was born November 12, 1934 in White County, Georgia to the late Warren George Gooch and the late Coral Estelle Palmer Gooch. He loved preaching and singing everywhere he went with the traveling gospel groups he sang with. He also loved to fish and have fish fries for his family and friends. Rev. Gooch is survived by his wife Vernelle Gooch; mother of his children Betty Gooch; sons Wilburn Gooch and wife Martha and Johnny Gooch; daughter Pat Cabe and husband Stanley; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He also had 12 brothers and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his son Clifton Gooch.
