Robert "Bob" England

Robert “Bob” England, age 80, passed away the morning of May 3, 2015.  Bob was an accomplished, loving and caring man.  He was born November 8, 1034 in Washington, D.C. He was survived by his loving wife Leyla England; his children; sister Roni Ragatz and grandchildren.  He was the son of An American and British Foreign Service parents, he led a life full of stories.  He delivered the President’s personal car across Afghanistan, dined at the White House on a number of occasions with multiple presidents, and even launched a missile full of foot powder into a cemetery.  He graduated from Amherst with a degree in physics, and spent four years in the Army helping to create the training program and build the guidance system for the Nike Hercules missile program at White Sands missile test facility.  Upon exiting the service he had a successful career with IBM and retired at the age 0f  55.  Bob understood life, and attacked it with relentlessness and tenacity.  He was a man that loved a lot of things; his family and friends, loud movies and music, milkshakes, wine, the weather channel, and is Netflix and Amazon Prime memberships.  His quick wit and sense of humor endeared him to any/all who knew him.  He will be remembered at a private ceremony for the family at Lawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.  Arrangements by Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA, 30548, www.lawsonfuneralhome.org, 706-654-0966.
