Tovias Villagomez, age 51, of Winder passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020. He was born February 27, 1969 in Michuoacán, Mexico. His childhood life was not as easy as it is for many, but that is what made him the man he was to this day. While in Mexico, he decided he wanted a better life and decided to come to the U.S. for a hope in better living. When he arrived to the U.S., he was 27 years old, and had a daughter in Mexico with his wife Mariana Martinez. The daughter’s name is Sol Villagomez who is now 26 years old. His wife and daughter soon came to the U.S. as well to live life with him. The couple started working to provide for their daughter and did all they could to do so. Later on, they had another daughter, by the name of Alma Villagomez, who is now 19 years old. Tovias Villagomez loved his daughters, and did anything to provide for them. Words that describe Tovias are hardworking, charming, loving, humorous and I am pretty sure you can name many more. Tovias Villagomez loved to do concrete work. If you asked him any questions about it, he would give you an answer. He would work every day he could, but always kept Sunday for the family. He also has 2 grandsons named Jairo and Alex, whom are young and loved so much. When Tovias had free time, he would go out to eat with the family. He loved going to Mexican restaurants. He would not want to go any where else, except there. We were lucky enough to get him to go to a Chinese restaurant. Tovias loved his family and will continue to do so. If anyone has memories with Tovias, think about them and all the laughs you all had. Always remember he was a great man and will be watching over everyone who loves him. God Bless. A Funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 4, 2020 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Winder. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Mexico.
