Jean Mossman McCray Eigenbrod

Eigenbrod, Jean7Jean Mossman McCray Eigenbrod, age 90, passed away at The Oaks at Braselton in Hoschton, GA on Friday, November 6, 2015. Jean was a native of Huntington, WV and a graduate of Huntington High School and the University of Kentucky. While at Kentucky, she met and married Dwight L. “Mac” McCray. After graduation, Jean and Mac followed his career in the oil industry, living in Oklahoma (where their two children were born), Texas and Louisiana. The family settled in New Orleans in 1958. They attended the first game of the New Orleans Saints in 1967 and became lifelong Saints fans. Jean’s husband, Mac, died in 1969. She was married to Dr. Fred Eigenbrod from 1975 until his death in 1997. Jean and her daughter, Sandy, moved from Louisiana to the Village at Deaton Creek in Hoschton, GA in 2009. Jean was preceded in death by older brother Bill Mossman, killed in action in World War II; younger brother John Mossman; and husbands Dwight McCray and Fred Eigenbrod. Surviving family members include son Bill McCray and daughter-in-law Karen McCray of Dayton, OH; daughter Sandy McCray of Hoschton, GA; grandson Brian McCray of Dayton, OH; and sister-in-law Bettie Mossman of Littleton, CO. Graveside services will be held in Huntington, WV. Jean’s family would welcome memorial donations to the Military Support Club at the Village at Deaton Creek (6420 Monarch Court, Hoschton, GA 30548), where all funds raised go to injured and needy veterans and their families.   1. Jeff an I met Jean when we moved to Georgia last year and immedtiately knew she as a special lady. She was kind and made us feel at home. We will miss her.
