John Curtis Bachmann, age 84, of Gainesville, GA passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016. Curt grew up in Cleveland, Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma. Upon graduation he served two years of active duty in the US Air Force in Big Strings, TX attaining the rank of Captain. After moving to Miami FL, he was hired by the Wackenhut Corporation and retired as Vice President of Business Development after 40 years of service. He was actively involved as a member and former President of the University Club in Miami. Upon retirement, he and his wife Gail moved to the Avondale area of Jacksonville, FL and were actively involved in the local area and members of RAP. He recently moved to Gainesville GA to be near family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. Always gracious and the genuine host, he will be missed deeply. Survivors include his sons James P. Bachmann and wife Elise of Braselton, Robert L. Bachmann; brothers Guy Paul “GP” Bachmann of Buford, Rick Bachmann of OK; grandchildren James Curtis, Parker Edwin, Elizabeth Buchanan, and Jordan Gardner; great grandchildren Hannah, Hunter and Hope. He is preceded in death by his wife Gail Gardner Bachmann. Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.
