Clifford Butler, Jr.

Clifford Butler, Jr., age 84 of Dacula passed on August 2, 2021 following a long illness.  Mr. Butler was born April 30, 1937 to the late Clifford and Otellie (Wages) Butler.  “Junior” worked many years as a switchgear wireman for General Electric and Siemen-Allis before retiring from the maintenance crew at Hebron Baptist Church where he was a long-time, faithful member.  In addition to his family, Junior loved all kinds of sports. He played basketball and baseball for Dacula High, and then followed and supported his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as they played all manner of sports (basketball, baseball, softball, track, tennis, soccer, football, wrestling and swimming). He was an avid fan of the Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and Georgia Tech.  More than anything else, he was a faithful Christian man.  Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shelby Frachiseur Butler, an infant son, Mark, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Brad (Tina) Butler of Shellman Bluff, his daughter Pam (Stan) Turner of Hoschton, five grandchildren, James (Callie) Butler of Brunswick, Merideth (Rob) Drake of Buford, Clay (Rachael) Turner of Brookhaven, Corey Butler of Brookhaven, and Bryson (Lauren) Turner of Sugar Hill, seven great grandchildren: Shelby Claire, Lillie, Savannah, Brooks, Beckett, Smith, and Blakely, one sister, Ruth Etheridge, and two sisters-in-law, Lorene Minton, and Ouida Butler.  Memorial Services will be held 4:00 pm Thursday, August 19, 2021 at First Baptist Church Buford.
