Herman “Alton” Wiley, age 100 of Suwannee passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023. Alton served in World War II and spent nearly two years on the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. Alton even volunteered for the Navy just too see more action, he is respected and honored for his service. Alton is survived by his daughters; Lisa Shelton of Lawrenceville, Beth Ayers and husband Raymond of Jefferson, Carolyn Lummus and husband Jerry of Bethlehem; son Bill Wiley of Cumming; grandchildren Kelly Bryan, Dawn Chandler, Gillian Gooch, Cory Ayers,, Tyler Shelton, Brandon Shelton, Leanne Tucker, Chad Wiley; 9 great grandchildren.
