Philip M. “Phil” Shekey, age 57, of Sneads Ferry, NC and formerly of Jefferson, GA, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 20, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in St. Petersburg, FL on Friday, December 24, 1965 to Carolyn Barie Shekey and to the late Joseph T. Shekey. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country. He was an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor for AIM in Duluth, GA. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, shooting guns, off-roading, coaching his sons in baseball but above all, spending time with his family. To know Phil is to know how he could fix anything with his wealth of knowledge and perfectionist personality. He never met a stranger, loved people and enjoyed charity work especially Toys for Tots . He had a unique proficiency in music trivia. Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Tammy Shekey; mother Carolyn Shekey; left to cherish his memory are his beloved sons Ryan Shekey and wife Kaitlan, and Michael Shekey; grandsons Grayson, Lucas and Henry; brothers Scott Shekey and wife Katie, Christopher Shekey, Jeffery Shekey and wife Terri; and a host of other relatives. His absence will be forever felt and greatly missed.
