Shirley Jane Ewing, age 49, of Auburn passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Shirley was a member of Mt Vernon Baptist Church of Lawrenceville. She loved to go fishing and to do some traveling. In her travels, she enjoyed trips to Cherokee, NC to play those slot machines at Harrah’s Casino. After her fishing trips, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and having fish fry’s. She found delight in going to the beach as well. Survivors include her fiancé Johnny Haney of Auburn, she and Johnny were together for 11 years. Brothers Johnnie Ewing, Jr. and wife Linda of Dry Branch, Ricky Ewing and wife Kathy of Dacula, Tom Ewing and wife Theresa of Winder; sister Debbie Cash and Melvin Moon of Bethlehem; great aunt Mary Stephens, and great uncle Charles Peppers; nephews Matthew Ewing, Barry Cash, Jamie Dye, Ernie Dye and Johnathon Gluth; nieces Katherine Cash, Jessica Ewing, Beth Still, Becky Whitley, Candice Peterson and Katie Willington. She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie Ewing, Sr. and Birtice Priest Ewing and son Michael David Goodspeed. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Marty Cason will be officiating, Interment to follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2570 Harbins Road, Dacula, Ga., 30019. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the funeral home.
